Matt LeBarre was schooled at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree there in 1990.

From 1990 to 1997 Matt was employed as an illustrator for a design studio in the Detroit market. He illustrated for such companys as Coca-Cola, Continental Airlines, Century 21, Chrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Frontier Communications, GM Corporation, and K Mart.

In mid '97 Matt left the studio to begin a career as a freelance artist.
